Passive house is a standard for energy efficiency in a building, which reduces the building's ecological footprint. It results in ultra-low energy buildings that require little energy for space heating or cooling

Passive House has five key elements:

  1. Continuous high-level insulation

  2. High-performance windows

  3. An airtight building envelope

  4. Mechanical ventilation with heat recovery (MVHR)

  5. Thermal bridge free design and construction

An architecturally designed, Certified Passive House can be delivered for equal or equivalent to a house built to the National Construction Code standards and BASIX requirements. The super-insulated continuous envelope minimises both external urban noises and structural and interior condensation risks. Continuous fresh filtered air at room temperature offers protection from pollution, pollen and odours, making a Passive House healthier than a standard build

Over the building’s life span, the low running costs of Passive Houses make them more cost-effective than standard builds – with 90% average reduction in energy use for heating and cooling.

The ultra-low energy demands also make it more affordable to use renewable energy sources and significantly reduce CO2emissions.

Passive Houses can be built to your needs and aspirations. There is no limitation to the construction material and design of the house. Each design is catered to suit your housing needs and building budget. We are able to working with existing Heritage listed terrace houses to complete knock down new builds.
