Jodie Dang ARCHITECTS
Jodie Dang graduated from the University of New South Wales with a Bachelor of Architectural Studies and Master of Architecture. Jodie started her career in 2007 at London working for renown architectural studio where she gained experience in Carbon Zero Housing, as well as in regeneration and mixed use architecture.

Upon her return to Sydney, Jodie followed her passion in residential architecture gaining experience and knowledge in Passive House Design.
Jodie knew that sustainability was going to play a major part in the roles and projects she pursued. Focusing on small to medium sized projects, she gained strong reputation in good sustainable design in New South Wales.
With and office in the Inner West, Jodie has a strong knowledge of heritage conservation constraints and opportunities in a variety of projects ranging from residential, commercial and community projects.

Jodie believes that good design is responsive to the sustainability of the community. The aim is to create beautiful inspiring spaces, which strive towards passive heating and cooling, creating neutral energy housing.

Passive House
Passive house is a standard for energy efficiency in a building, which reduces the building's ecological footprint. It results in ultra-low energy buildings that require little energy for space heating or cooling

An architecturally designed, Certified Passive House can be delivered for equal or equivalent to a house built to the National Construction Code standards and BASIX requirements. The super-insulated continuous envelope minimises both external urban noises and structural and interior condensation risks. Continuous fresh filtered air at room temperature offers protection from pollution, pollen and odours, making a Passive House healthier than a standard build

Over the building’s life span, the low running costs of Passive Houses make them more cost-effective than standard builds – with 90% average reduction in energy use for heating and cooling.

The ultra-low energy demands also make it more affordable to use renewable energy sources and significantly reduce CO2emissions.
