Our approach can be broken into three things: our design philosophy, our design must-haves.

Our design ethos has always been simple: step lightly on the earth.

Your design will affect you, your neighbours, and the environment -so it must first be kind.

You've chosen to build on your site because you love the street, the neighbourhood, and your immediate surroundings. We would never design something that compromises the wellbeing of your neighbours. Why design your dream home if it means upsetting everyone around you?

Careful consideration is given to ensuring your design respects its neighbours and its environment.

We also need to drastically reduce our energy consumption. It's expensive for both the household and the earth. Regardless of how you choose to heat and cool your home, we need to rely less on mechanical heating and cooling. That's why our designs aim towards Passive House standards, creating homes that are highly energy efficient and naturally comfortable throughout the year. After every concept design, we run a PHPP (Passive House Planning Package) analysis on the design before it moves to the next stage. This is a comprehensive thermal study that models how your home will perform throughout the entire year using the latest 10 years of local climate data.

Rather than guessing how the house will feel, PHPP predicts how it will retain warmth in winter, stay cool in summer, and maintain comfortable indoor temperatures with very little reliance on heating or cooling. It also tests how the home performs under different living scenarios, including periods of higher occupancy, such as when family or guests are staying over.

This means we're making design decisions based on measurable performance, so your home is comfortable, energy-efficient, and built to work with the climate for decades to come.

Our design principle for every house is simple: every home needs three wow factors.

When someone walks through the house, they should feel or say wow at least three times. We achieve this through natural light, form and creating spaces that feel beautiful.

Each room will have generous ceiling heights and allowing each room to be cross-ventilated. When you walk through the space, you instantly feel that the room breathes. It looks amazing and feels amazing.

And not all sites have views. So our design needs to stand on its own.
