Vaucluse Wave House

Vaucluse Wave House

With climate change and energy consumption being the forefront the sustainable movement, Passive house is a low energy standard of construction which allows the building to retain 24 degrees all year round without the use of air conditioning.

Passive house standards allows us to reduce our reliance on air conditioning, and therefore reducing our energy consumption. There is no limitation to the design of a Passive House. With understanding the climate and nature of the site, we can design a new house to Passive House standards and still being able to capture the 180 degrees of water views in the Eastern suburbs of Sydney.

The house is well insulated, ventilated and orientated to allow the house to breath and perform at an optimal level to reduce our overall energy consumption. Heating and cooling equates to 50% of household energy in a standard build. Our houses are our largest contribution to energy consumption and the residential construction industry contributing to 28% of the overall carbon emission world-wide.
